Growing up, I never really wore make-up consistently.  My sister was the one to start wearing it first and my then friends started wearing make-up in middle school/high school.  I noticed that they were and I kind of thought that I should too, so I tried wearing some.  I asked my sister to show and teach me how to put on eyeliner.  At first, I couldn't even do it myself.  I didn't really like it because I couldn't do it myself and it always smudged and would make me look like a raccoon.  I used pencil liner then.  After I realized that it didn't work, I switched to liquid liner.  I liked it at first but then it, too, began to run.  I noticed in mirrors that I looked not attractive at all by the end of the day when my make-up was smeared.  At one point, I just gave up altogether and stopped wearing any.  My sister always said to me that I don't need to wear any.
Now, while at college, I've been using it more often.  At this point, I had switched to gel instead of the pencil.  I like it a lot more than pencil or liquid liner.  It doesn't smudge as much or at all.  I like wearing it and I'll admit that it makes me feel good.  I think I look better and prettier with it on.  I use to try to wear it every day and at the beginning of the year, I wore it every day.  Now that we're in to the second semester, I got lazy.  I wake up too late and I don't have time to put it on.  Some days, during my break between classes, I'd find a mirror and put it on.  Nowadays, I don't wear eyeliner on a daily basis.  I wear it on the weekends when I go out with my friends or with my boyfriend.  I used to feel like I had to wear it because it made me look prettier and everyone else did.  However, I've realized that I don't need to wear it just because every one else does.  I don't need it to look prettier either because my boyfriend likes me for me; it doesn't matter if I wear make-up or not.  I'm confident in myself that I look pretty naturally, without the use of make-up.
